January 2nd and Halloween has begun!

So I've already started the planning and prepwork for Halloween 2014!

I've started out by purchasing 2 new Pirate Flags to go with the 2 I already have. One of them the Dead Men Tell No Tales Blue Outlined Flag! I used to have this flag until it disappeared mysteriously one day several years ago before we moved our Office to Poway. Got a Great Deal for the 2 flags, $10.00 shipped for both from BC Novelties via Amazon. 3'x5' flags no less.

I've also started compiling a list of the stuff we will need for the 2014 build:

  • cheap lumber 1x2's from home depot to build the framework of the Pirate Ship.

  • Pink or Blue Foamboard - preferably blue as it's cheaper. Sold by Lowe's, 1/2"x4'x8' pieces should work. We should need about 8 pieces of these or so.

  • Pirate Jewels/Gems/Necklaces/Gold stuff - In order to be proper pirates we need LOTS of this stuff, it doesn't have to be real -plastic is prefered anyways, if you have any to donate, please help us out!

  • Pirate Coins - found these online fairly cheap $5 for 144... www.orientaltrading.com

  • heavy pvc tarping - preferably black, waterproof. We will be attempting a bayou type of setup in the front yard and want to have a water feature. Large pieces of this are important.

  • Old weathered wood / pirate chests

  • Skeletons parts, particularly skulls and long bones like femurs

  • Wooden Captain's Ship Wheel.

  • Rope - any kind.

  • Barrels - plastic or wood, we can even make them if wood is donated. Probably use these as trash cans. Maybe even some scene setter type of stuff would be usable here

  • Large PVC Pipe for Cannons.

  • old fabric - browns, tans, creams, white. Need pirate sails.

If you have any of this stuff, or other stuff that seem's "pirate" like, and want to help out, please let me know at stretchingroom@gmail.com
